Japanese teapot TAKASUKE Shiro, handle, 300 ml

  • SKU: 060423
This handcrafted Kyusu from Tokoname comes from the workshop of Takashi Touen and is specifically designed for reverse-hand pouring. The traditional handle rests particularly well in the hand and allows for calm, controlled pouring, as appreciated in Japanese tea culture. The Kyusu is made using a complex slip-casting technique developed by Kita Osamu. Finally, all components are precisely assembled by hand. A finely perforated, integrated ceramic tea strainer allows for direct brewing of loose tea leaves and ensures an even extraction.
High-quality Tokoname clay is used, whose light, naturally beige to creamy hue emphasizes the minimalist character of the teapot and brings out the tea’s soft and balanced flavor. The simple shape, harmonious proportions, and meticulous craftsmanship make each teapot a unique piece – with subtle, natural variations in color and form. Tokoname is one of Japan’s six ancient kilns and is renowned for its excellent pottery.

The reverse-hand teapot holds approx. 300 ml and is ideal for 1–2 people.
