"Kokeicha Karoyaka, Super Premium"
Kokeicha Karoyaka
The super-premium tea Kokeicha Karoyaka is made from the young, tender tea leaves of Cultivar Yabukita and water. The tea leaves are obtained in the spring in the first and second harvest and are completely freed from the petioles and stems. The origin of the tea is Shizuoka and Kagoshima. Yabukita is a very popular cultivar in Japan, although it is quite delicate and organic farmers have to take great care of it. But it provides a lot of umami and is therefore worth almost any effort. The cultivar for the Kokeicha is grown on the southern island of Japan Kyushu, more precisely from the area of Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture. Kirishima is also the name of a mountain in the prefecture, a volcanic mountain. Volcanic soil, together with the subtropical climate, the many hours of sunshine, but also the fog, make up the special conditions that can produce wonderful teas. The tea fields are located - very idyllic - in the mountains of Kirishima, about 600 meters above sea level. The second harvest area is Shizuoka, south of Tokyo, the largest and most famous green tea growing area. The ideal climate with lots of sun, plenty of water, mild winters and early summers and the long tradition in tea cultivation produce excellent tea. The producer of our Kokeicha Karoyaka is not certified organic but the Kokeicha of course meets the strict EU standards for food.
How does the Kokeicha Karoyaka
taste?
In our taste test, one spontaneous statement was, \"A great tea, light yet lots of flavor. Very good body without being too voluminous. It tastes young, fresh with nice richness.\" It is certainly also the light roasted aromas and the fine, subtle noble bitter note that led to this apt verdict.
Kokeicha Karoyaka and your health
The ingredients of Kokeicha correspond largely to a Sencha. Only the concentration is slightly lower. Already in general, the high-quality Sencha are considered the best variety in terms of their general health effects. Kokeicha Karoyaka, cultivated according to the highest Japanese standards, has a high content of catechins and antioxidants and is rich in amino acids, fatty acids and chlorophyll as well as various minerals which, in addition to the elaborate processing, also provide for the exclusive taste. The high content of L-theanine has a stimulating effect, making this tea a very healthy alternative to many a more aggressive pick-me-up. As far as health-promoting ingredients are concerned, Sencha is the most well-balanced of all tea varieties, hence its broad effect: metabolism, cardiovascular system, intestinal functions and also memory performance can benefit noticeably. But also anti-inflammatory effect this excellent green tea.
Tea jewels are valuable but rare
Only small quantities of our rarities are harvested and produced each year. In return, they indulge with their exceptional characters and exquisite flavors, cultivated and refined over centuries. Most of our rarities are of finest organic quality. Since only the most tender leaves of the plants are used for our teas, the plucking quantities are very small. All plucking is done by hand, carefully inspected and sorted. To fully enjoy these rare green teas, you should ideally use soft water, filtered if necessary. You can achieve an increase in flavor if you boil the water in a genuine Japanese cast iron kettle - for the sake of your health, pay attention to the quality - and prepare the tea in a Japanese teapot made of clay or cast iron (Kyusu)
Note
Tested for radioactivity on export and import. Green tea from Japan please store in a cool, dark and dry place. So it retains its unique flavor. Suitable for multiple infusions. Also very tasty as a cold drink.
