"Matcha Sencha Chowa, Organic, Super Premium"
Matcha-Sencha Chowa
Sencha is the most widely drunk green tea in Japan. Over 70% of the green tea grown in Japan is sencha. The qualities of Senchas on the market are very broad and range from quite plain to very high quality. Our super premium tea Matcha-Sencha Chowa combines a very high quality Sencha with a fine Matcha. The green tea and green tea powder come from the southern island of Japan Kyushu, more precisely from the area around Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture. Kirishima is also the name of a mountain in the prefecture, a volcanic mountain. Volcanic soil, together with the subtropical climate, the many hours of sunshine, but also the fog, make up the special conditions that can produce such beautiful teas as this Sencha. The tea fields are located - very idyllic - in the mountains of Kirishima, about 600 meters above sea level. Here, in a small organic tea garden, grow the cultivars of our Sencha: Yabukita, Okumidori and Okuyutaka. Yabukita is a very popular cultivar in Japan, although it is quite delicate and organic farmers have to take great care of it. But it yields a lot of umami, which makes it worth almost any effort. The yields of the Cultivar Okumidori are mostly preferred only for Tencha, the green tea for Matcha, and Gyokuro. So for Sencha, it's a choice choice. In contrast, Okuyutaka is a typical Sencha cultivar. This high-quality selection of cultivars, the restriction to the leaves of the first harvest and the careful processing make the Sencha of Chowa an excellent green tea, in combination with the fine Matcha, Chowa becomes a popular tea favorite for those who appreciate a strong, round taste.
How does the Matcha-Sencha Chowa taste
Lots of umami, a slight noble bitter note, a milky, smooth aroma. The tea is smooth, the flavor present yet mild. The Chowa offers an absolutely delicious, stimulating and balanced taste experience that is second to none.
Matcha-Sencha Chowa and your health
Generally, high quality Senchas are considered the best variety in terms of their general health benefits. Organic sencha grown in a correct and controlled manner has a high content of catechins and antioxidants. Shading enriches mainly amino acids, fatty acids and chlorophyll, as well as various minerals, which also provide the balanced taste. The high content of L-theanine has a stimulating effect, making this tea a very healthy alternative to many a more aggressive pick-me-up. As far as health-promoting ingredients are concerned, Sencha is the most well-balanced of all tea varieties, hence its broad effect: metabolism, cardiovascular system, intestinal functions and also memory performance can benefit noticeably. But this excellent green tea also has an anti-inflammatory effect. The Matcha also offers fat-soluble fiber and vitamins and thus strengthens the health positive effect.
Tea jewels are valuable but rare
Only small quantities of our rarities are harvested and produced each year. In return, they indulge with their exceptional characters and exquisite flavors, cultivated and refined over centuries. Most of our rarities are of finest organic quality. Since only the most tender leaves of the plants are used for our teas, the plucking quantities are very small. All plucking is done by hand, carefully inspected and sorted. To fully enjoy these rare green teas, you should ideally use soft water, filtered if necessary. You can achieve an increase in flavor if you boil the water in a genuine Japanese cast iron kettle - for the sake of your health, pay attention to the quality - and prepare the tea in a Japanese teapot made of clay or cast iron (Kyusu)
