Ceramic Japan was founded in 1973 in the historic ceramic region of Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. The idea of ceramic japan, to combine first-class product design with traditional craftsmanship, is still the supporting foundation of the manufactory today. Makoto Komatsu
The world-famous designer Makoto Komatsu has made a name for himself in particular with his ceramic works. Born in Tokyo, he studied and later became a professor at Musashino Art University. Exhibitions in Tokyo, Paris, New York, London, Shanghai, Beijing and Oslo, among others, many international design awards, represented in the world's major museums.
