Very sturdy cast iron teapot warmer for teapots, tetsubin, pans and pots from Japan. The cast iron teapot warmer from Iwachu has a diameter of Ø 17 cm. The teapot warmer was manufactured in the world-renowned manufactory Iwachu, Morioka. For well over 100 years, Iwachu has made a name for itself with high-quality products such as cast iron pans, cast iron pots, cast iron teapots and tetsubin.

Usage Note: Please note that tea lights must be extinguished when the teapot or tetsubin is emptied.

The best quality from the hands of experienced artisans

Few artisans in Japan make tetsubin, Kyusu and many other high quality products from cast iron using the traditional methods of ancient Japan. The working process, in order to achieve the desired high quality, is very time-consuming and requires many years of experience from the masters. Elaborate clay molds are made by hand on the lathe and can usually be used for only 4 or 5 products. The world's most famous brand of handmade Nanbu tetsubin and Kyusu made of cast iron (tea pot) is Iwachu, Iwate Prefecture. Only natural materials are used as raw materials: tested iron ore and iron sand, Urushi lacquer, green tea and vinegar for the tetsubin, sealing and protecting the outer surfaces. Classic designs like the Arare motif but also picture motifs or very reduced designs are the rule. Colors are used rather rarely in the Tetsubin, Kyusu are also available in very different, modern colors.

All products are unique. Slight deviations from the picture are possible. Due to the handmade production, small irregularities in the shape and surface are possible. Iwachu products are only genuine with the original stamp on the product.

It is best to clean dry. If necessary, use infused green tea leaves.

Produkte aus der Edel-Manufaktur „IWACHU” sind so schön, dass man sie einfach ins Rampenlicht rücken MUSS - Stövchen wie dieses spielen zwar eine tragende Rolle, die man aber in der klassischen CHANOYU leider nicht sieht: weil alle Blicke auf dem Wasserkessel liegen, der darüber platziert wird. Das „Gotoku” genannte Stövchen darunter ist von einem Becken umgeben, das die Feuerstelle nach außen hin begrenzt. Und das ist auch der künftige Platz für mein Stövchen: Mittendrin statt nur dabei. Was für ein erhebendes Gefühl, umgeben von der Kunst des alten Japans immer wieder eine neue Schale Tee genießen zu dürfen...
