"Tea set T.Kato white, 6 pieces"
Tea set consisting of a teapot and 5 tea bowls, designed by Tatsumi Kato from Ceramic Japan. Each piece is traditionally handmade, reflecting a modern design. The manufactory is situated in Seto, Aichi prefecture—a region renowned for its tradition of pottery, given its access to particularly high-quality clay. Uniquely, Seto is the only pottery center in Japan that has maintained the use of a glaze dating back over 1,000 years, to the Kamakura period. The award-winning manufactory is notable for its intentional collaboration between modern designers and traditional artisans, resulting in innovative products with unparalleled aesthetics, utility, and quality. The distinction between these pieces and inexpensive mass-produced items is not only visible but, according to tea connoisseurs, can also be distinctly tasted.
All products are unique, and slight variations from the depicted images are to be expected. Due to the artisanal nature of production, any minor irregularities attest to the authenticity and craftsmanship, and in no way diminish the item's value.
