High quality chopstick rests made of genuine ebony. The ebony wood is one of the most valuable types of wood at all. It is very hard, heavy and has a density between 0.9 to 1.3 kg/dm³. Mostly ebony is used for valuable inlay work and the construction of sophisticated musical instruments. In mythology, ebony plays a major role. It is often said to have a magical effect. It is supposed to protect against demons, preserve the power of magical objects and is considered - in mythology - the ideal raw material for magic wands.
