Takoyaki
Takoyaki is a popular Japanese snack food that consists of small, round balls of dough filled with a filling of squid pieces, vegetables and other ingredients. The balls are baked in special takoyaki pans and served with soy sauce, mayonnaise and other toppings.
Takoyaki originated in Osaka and is a popular street food snack throughout Japan. It is often sold at stalls in street markets, festivals and shopping malls and can be eaten as a snack or as part of a meal. A cast iron pan with a suitable shape into which the dough is filled is particularly suitable for making it. It is a simple but very tasty dish that is becoming increasingly popular in other parts of the world.
