High quality ebony chopsticks. Ebony, real heartwood, is one of the most valuable types of wood at all. It is very hard, heavy and has a density between 0.9 to 1.3 kg/dm³. Mostly ebony is used for valuable inlay works and construction of sophisticated musical instruments. In mythology, ebony plays a major role. It is often said to have a magical effect. It is said to protect against demons, preserve the power of magical objects and is considered - in mythology - the ideal raw material for magic wands.

Eine gute Investition
Ich habe jetzt bereits einige Male mit diesen Stäbchen gegessen, und ich muss sagen: ich bin extrem begeistert. Das tiefschwarze Holz, die sehr glatten Facetten, die unglaublich filigranen Enden (die keinesfalls fragil wirken!), und das angenehme Handling dank des achteckigen Schliffs - diese Stäbchen sind ihr Geld in meinen Augen absolut wert! Es ist schon beeindruckend, wie präzise man mit den feinen Enden arbeiten kann. Das vollkommen schnörkellose Design ohne Intarsien oder Ornamente setzt ein dezentes Statement. Die Länge von 250mm gefällt mir sehr gut, meine alten Essstäbchen waren genauso lang. Ich überlege noch, ob irgendwann die 15mm kürzeren Stäbchen aus Rosenholz folgen - allein die Farbe wäre mir die Investition wert, von der Haptik erwarte ich eine ähnlich positive Überraschung wie hier.
Zusammen mit der grauen Baumwolltasche und einer kleinen Ablagebank habe ich hier ein wunderschönes Set erworben, das mich sicher viele Jahre begleiten wird. Abschließend möchte ich ebenfalls lobend den schnellen Versand und die tolle handschriftliche Karte sowie die Teeprobe erwähnen, die der Sendung beilagen.
