The Shiki set comes with a wooden base and a small wooden plaque showing - in Japanese script, of course - the artist's name. Shipped in the original packaging with the characters of the founder of the manufactory Usaburo Okamoto.

Sehr schönes Set
Habe ich zu einem Geburtstag verschenkt und kam sehr gut an. Sehr hübsch und sorgfältig gearbeitet.
Für die, die kein Japanisch lesen können, fällt auch kaum auf, dass das kleine Holz-Aufstell-Schildchen eigentlich horizontal beschriftet ist - leider aber vertikal steht.

The founder, Usaburo Okamoto, has won many awards for his work. His employees and some family members are also proud recipients of awards for their creations. They say that their love for their homeland is the source from which they draw their creativity.

The Kokeshi dolls are meticulously handmade. The artisans have studied the characteristics of various types of wood. The woods used for the Kokeshi are carefully selected and combined. The tactile sensation created by the fine craftsmanship is impressive.
