One of the lids is made of Kyoto ceramic, matching the Gourd tea bowl. The other lid is made of cast iron. The high standards of Kyoto's chefs, tea masters and aesthetically educated citizens have always been the incentive and benchmark for the artistic achievements of Kyoto's fantastic craftsmen. Their creations enjoy world renown, regardless of whether it is the ceramic quality, the most delicate patterns or the most refined glazes. At the same time, the masters of ceramics with their sophisticated works were again the engines for the technical development of production in the traditional kilns, which had to do and have done their part to complete the works of ceramic artists. Kyoto Yaki, ware from Kyoto, became a brand of the most beautiful ceramics with an international reputation and a loyal following around the world.

Notes only use and care

Cast Iron (cast iron) teapots are enameled on the inside and should not be placed directly on the heat source or the enamel may crack. The included tea strainer is made of stainless steel. Cleaning the teapot should be done by hand without detergent or abrasive cleaners. It is usually sufficient to rinse the teapot with hot water. If necessary, a tea patina may form inside the teapot, which does not need to be removed - many tea connoisseurs appreciate this as it enhances the tea flavor. Allow the teapot to dry thoroughly in an airy place.

All products are unique. Slight deviations from the picture are possible. Due to the artisan production, small irregularities are evidence of authenticity and craftsmanship and do not represent a reduction in value.

T. NISHIKAWA & Co., Inc. is headquartered in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan. The Gojozaka district is famous for its numerous kilns and art studios producing Kiyomizu products. Since its establishment in 1917, the company has promoted and exported Kiyomizu products worldwide. Teizaburo Nishikawa, the founder of the company, first showcased Kiyomizu products at the Brussels World Expo in 1958. Keitaro Nishikawa, Teizaburo's son and successor, steadily expanded the export business and diversified the product portfolio with a variety of traditional Japanese craft products.
