Japanese teapot Fukasori, 300 ml

It opens up formally, much like the green tea that blossoms within it. If a Kyusu can exude pride and sovereignty, then it's likely the Fukasori crafted by Master Gyokko. This renowned master molded the teapot by hand on the potter's wheel, adorned it with delicate lines, and fired it in a reduction kiln in Tokoname, home to one of the oldest kilns in Japan. The secret behind the decorative red line on the top edge remains with Gyokko, as he hasn't shared how he achieved this. Not only is Gyokko a master of pottery, but he is also celebrated for his firing techniques, recognized both in Tokoname and beyond. Naturally, he uses only the mineral-rich clay from Tokoname, capable of withstanding high temperatures. His exquisite designs often inspire imitation, considered a high compliment in Japan. However, no one has yet managed to replicate the Fukasori. This elegant teapot weighs around 330 grams, has a capacity of about 300 ml, and features an integrated ceramic strainer. It pairs exceptionally well with the black tea bowls, Sendan Kuro, also crafted by Master Gyokko.
