"Sushi set Sou, black-gold"
Sushi serving bowl, plate, sauce dish: Sou series tableware is made of beautifully glazed stoneware. Its natural, slightly rustic appearance conveys the charm of real closeness to nature. The combination of black and gold is in keeping with a typical Japanese aesthetic. The gold is a special glaze that is dishwasher and microwave safe. The Sou series dinnerware is perfect for everyday use.
These handmade chopsticks are made of genuine Japanese cherry wood. Cherry is popular not only because of its symbolism and floral splendor, but also the wood, which belongs to the precious woods, is widely used for high-quality furniture, decorative and utilitarian objects. Gato Mikio manufactory is one of the traditional lacquerware manufacturers and is very famous for its high quality craftsmanship. Artisans of the manufactory produce the sticks according to the artistic, high-quality Urushi process. Urushi refers to the natural varnish made from tree resin and at the same time the technique of processing, which has been practiced for about 6000 years. Urushi has been practiced at a high artistic level since about the 6th century. For many centuries, Urushi products were luxury goods and reserved exclusively for the imperial family and nobility.
Please note: All items are handcrafted, some are truly unique. Due to the handmade production, minimal irregularities are evidence of authenticity and craftsmanship and do not represent a reduction in value. Due to the special properties of the glaze of the Sou tableware series, the surface of these products may discolor upon contact with highly acidic foods. Please avoid this to preserve the beauty of the glaze.
