Tea set Kuro Momiji, Banko Yaki, 4 pieces

  • SKU: 060229
Japanese tea set consisting of a Kyusu and three dainty tea bowls. Made by Suigetsu Toen, Yokkaichi, Japan. All pieces are made of the famous natural clay of Mie Prefecture. High quality clay pottery has been made in this prefecture for many hundreds of years. The purple clay is very rich in iron and minerals and is one of the most valuable raw materials for tea ware. Especially among connoisseurs of first-class green tea such as Gyokuro, Kabusecha and noble Sencha, Banko ceramics are highly sought after. Hiroshi Suigetsu is one of the great artists of traditional Japanese ceramic production. As the third master, he has led the ceramics association in Yokkaichi for many years, and his impressive career has been accompanied by many honors and awards. The Kuro Momiji tea set is decorated with a very natural pattern: a real maple leaf from the region served as a model, and was conjured onto the lid of the Kyusu and the tea bowls using a specially developed technique. Thus tea service has been created, which quietly but confidently accompanies your tea enjoyment with Japanese atmosphere.
