"Japanese bowl cast iron, 2 sizes"
Kamasada
In the Meiji period, 1868 to 1912, the \"Miya iron kettle store\", a store and cast iron forge, was founded in the center of Morioka. The current owner of Kamasada, Miya Nobuho, himself does not know when the forge was called KAMASADA by the locals. Kamasada's sense of tradition can be seen from the fact that the forge and the beautiful store have been located in the same premises since the company was founded.
The Kamasada product range consists exclusively of cast iron products. Starting with the traditional iron kettle for the tea ceremony, the range has constantly expanded over the years, but has always remained true to the traditional motto:
We combine usefulness with beauty!
The material
At Kamasada, the relationship with cast iron is typically Japanese: deep. Iron and people have come a long way together, the material and the people have written history together. We feel the bubbling power of molten iron. When it is poured into the mold, an emotional connection is created between nature and man. Ironware is part of our lives, the kettle makes a sound, in the kitchen delicacies are prepared in ironware, on the table utensils made of iron accompany our enjoyment. Much of the ironware has passed from hand to hand over generations. The surface of cast iron changes as life changes. This simple, natural material, which lends itself to more applications, expands our awareness and creativity. When iron is covered in rust, it is covered in rust, it shows us the way back to the earth. So iron is the oldest and at the same time the newest material.
All products are unique. Slight deviations from the illustration are possible. Due to the handcrafted production process, small irregularities in the shape and surface are possible and do not represent a reduction in value.

Kamasada
For over 400 years, artisans in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, have been crafting high-quality cast iron products using the Nanbu Teki process. This technique enables the production of exceptionally thin-walled products, providing designers with many possibilities. Nobuho Miya is one such world-renowned designer, and Kamasada Ironworks, the manufacturing facility founded by his family in Iwate Prefecture, brings his designs to life in excellent products. The workshop consistently produces cast iron products of the highest quality in both function and design using the Nanbu Teki (also known as Nambu Tetsu or Southern cast ironware) method. Nobuho Miya's works have been awarded worldwide and exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Each item is a handmade masterpiece that represents the outstanding skills of the artisans. Acquiring these skills requires extensive training and many years of experience.
Nobuho Miya's work is unmistakable, as it combines his expertise and experience with Nanbu Teki with his advanced quality as a designer.
