This tea set is an exceedingly gentle appearance of Kobiki earthenware. A beautiful teapot with 2 tea bowls, which are in no way inferior to her. A wonderful ensemble for a cozy, contemplative tea time. Kobiki earthenware is fired with decorative white earth on a brown background. The unique warmth and softness of their appearance is a typical character trait. In Japan, Kobiki pottery is used and appreciated mainly for tea but also for alcoholic beverages. Kobiki pottery is alive and life is change. Kyoto Yaki - Goods from Kyoto

Kyoto is the birthplace of many of Japan's cultural achievements and developments. It is no exaggeration to say that Kyoto in particular was the starting point from where Japanese culture was carried out into the world. A strong focus in Kyoto has always been on cultural developments around cuisine. The tea ceremony and typical dishes accompanying it (kaiseki) have undergone the highest refinement in Kyoto. It is certainly not surprising that in the wake of these endeavors, the ceramic arts, which indeed play a significant role in the ceremony, have also developed to the highest level.

The high standards of Kyoto's chefs, tea masters and aesthetically educated citizens have always been the incentive and benchmark for the artistic achievements of Kyoto's fantastic craftsmen. Their creations enjoy world renown, regardless of whether it is the ceramic quality, the most delicate patterns or the most refined glazes. At the same time, the masters of ceramics with their sophisticated works were again the engines for the technical development of production in the traditional kilns, which had to do and have done their part to complete the works of ceramic artists. Kyoto Yaki, ware from Kyoto, became a brand of the most beautiful ceramics with an international reputation and a loyal following around the world.

Kyoto Yaki. Instructions for use and care

Products with relatively open surfaces exhibit water and respiration activities with food prepared in them. They can absorb and release flavors, for example. With prolonged use and careful care, ceramic products enhance flavor nuances of the foods served in them, such as tea. Before use, wash ceramics with warm water and let them stand for a while filled with warm water. Ceramics that have absorbed water are less susceptible to tea stains and other discolorations. After use, please always wash with clean, warm water without detergent. You should not use abrasive sponges, hard brushes or the like for cleaning. Ceramic products decorated and painted with gold, silver or colors should not be exposed to high heat (oven) and sudden temperature changes, as this may damage the colors. The colors may change due to oxidation, even peel off at high heat. If the colors darken, you can use special polish to refresh the colors. However, please avoid bleach at all costs.

Schönes, helles, leichtes Teeset
Ich bin ausgesprochen zufrieden mit diesem Teeset. Transport und Verpackung waren wie immer exzellent. Das Set kommt in einem stabilen und attraktiven Geschenkkarton inklusive reichlich Holzwolle. Jedes der drei Einzelteile war noch einmal als Geschenk verpackt. Es ist diese Aufmerksamkeit fürs Detail, die mir an Oryoki so gut gefällt und mich darin bestärkt, dass manche der zugegeben hohen Preise sich dann doch wieder relativieren. Das Set selbst, ist - wenn man denn sich mit der Ästhetik des Unvollkommenen und Nichtperfekten anfreundet und dies im Gegenteil als Ausdruck der Handarbeit wertschätzt - sehr attraktiv. Es wirkt für mich einfach "leicht" und entspannend in seiner Farbwahl. Die henkellose Kanne funktioniert fast tropffrei und auch die durch das "Sieb" kommenden Schwebeteilchen halten sich in Grenzen. Der zum Teil rohe und unbehandelte Innenring der Kanne ist für mich Inbegriff der Nicht-Massenware-Ästhetik. Ich bin super happy damit.
