"Kokeshi: decorative figure Minori"
A typical characteristic of all Kokeshi from Usaburo is the beautiful grain of the wood used. Great importance is attached to the correct selection of the piece of wood for the respective Kokeshi. To create characters with simple, artistic means, to compose a harmonious picture with material, processing and painting, these are the extraordinary skills of the multiple award-winning Japanese artists. Our Minori is a good example of this. The figure is shipped together with a small wooden plaque showing - in Japanese script, of course - the name of the artist. Shipped in the original box with the characters of the founder of the manufactory Usaburo Okamoto.

The family-owned business was founded by Usaburo Okamoto, born in 1917 in Shinto. The workshop is characterized by a special passion and high craftsmanship. The founder, Usaburo Okamoto, has won many awards for his work. His employees and some family members are also proud recipients of awards for their creations. They say that their love for their homeland is the source from which they draw their creativity.
The Kokeshi dolls are meticulously handmade. The artisans have studied the characteristics of various types of wood. The woods used for the Kokeshi are carefully selected and combined. The tactile sensation created by the fine craftsmanship is impressive.
