KYUSAKICHI ZA Damascus Petty 150, 69 layers

  • SKU: 080151
The domain of the Petty is smaller cutting and peeling work. For this reason alone, it is clear that you will often have this knife in your hand. To ensure that this work can be done with much pleasure, Yoshida has used their traditional forging for a beautiful, uncomplicated, easy-to-use knife.
The blade of the Kuyusakichi ZA Damascus Petty by Yoshida consists of a cutting core and 68 layers of Damascus steel. The cutting core is forged from Aichi Steel's ZA-18 stainless steel, the Aichi answer to Hitachi's famous VG-10 steel. ZA-18 differs from VG-10 by having slightly more chromium and a higher carbon content. This allows the steel to be forged 1-3 HRC harder. The damascus layers result in a very nice, but not too obtrusive pattern on the blade. The typical Japanese oval handle is made of genuine Rosewood (Rosewood), the ferrule of water buffalo horn.
The Kuyusakichi ZA Damascus Petty is very light, very balanced and very sharp. It can be guided excellently and is perfect in the hand.
