"Cast iron grill pan Palma, OIGEN Japan"
Nambu Tekki (Nanbu Tekki)
Nambu ironware from Iwate is the highest quality Japanese ironware. The history of Nambu cast iron products in Oshu Hiraizumi is about 1000 years old. Oshu was founded in warlike times as a city of peace, but its destruction by Kamakura warriors could not be prevented. One of the measures of reconstruction was to build up the competence and infrastructure for metal casting. To this day, pans, pots, tetsubin and teapots of the highest quality are produced in Oshu and the entire Mizusawa area using the traditional Nambu Tekki process. The main characteristics of Nambu Tekki products are: natural raw materials, high sustainability, very high utility, exceptional traditional and modern design. The cast iron has high heat storage and conductivity. The cookware gets hot evenly, and the surface temperature can be very high if desired. Since there is no coating to reduce heat conduction, the heat is transferred directly to the food. In starred gastronomy, these products are highly appreciated. With you can work with high, uniform heat and at the same time the food prepared in it will stay warm for a long time.
Cast Iron Design Series Palma
Japan Creative is a non-profit, independent organization that brings together manufacturers of products with exceptional skills and renowned international designers in projects. The traditional company OIGEN and the English designer Jasper Morrison are united by their enthusiasm for first-class cookware. And so in 2012 the modern design series Palma was born: first-class, excellent design and the classic production method Nambu Tekki, which has been practiced and continuously improved at OIGEN since 1852, have come together. The design series Palma - a cast iron skillet, a cast iron pot, a cast iron grill pan, a cast iron kettle and a table serving stand - has since inspired many cooking enthusiasts worldwide.
Finishing OIGEN Cast Iron Products: NOF Finish
Natural Oil Finish is a process for finishing cast iron products with natural vegetable oil. This process protects the surface and makes it easier for the user to use the products. It is also recommended to burn these products again before use according to instructions. The prerequisite for NOF to be applied is a perfect casting process, as it is no longer possible to rework without damaging the surface protection.
All products are unique. Slight deviations from the picture are possible. Small irregularities in the shape and surface are signs of the handmade production.

Oigen
OIGEN strives to be 100% transparent and consistently embraces responsibility for our collective future. Most products are made from 100% natural materials and are processed and finished exclusively with natural methods (NOF, Naked Finish). The company has a long tradition and feels deeply connected to it, but thinks and acts modern, open-minded, and promotes innovations wherever it fits the philosophy of OIGEN. With its founding in 1852, a strong, traditional foundation was laid. The fact that the fifth generation of the founder Genjuro now leads a modern company in the spirit of history shows that tradition and bold, responsible, future-oriented action are not opposites but extremely enriching. OIGEN combines tradition with the future, brings people closer together, and touches hearts.
The headquarters of OIGEN in Mizusawa is located in the cultural sphere of Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture. Hiraizumi was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011. In 1090 AD, Kiyohira Fujiwara summoned excellent craftsmen from the Kyoto area to Mizusawa, laying the foundation for the high-quality casting of natural iron. Nambu Tekki (Nanbu Tekki) soon became synonymous with excellent cast iron products in Japan and many places around the world.
Every item is a uniquely handcrafted piece.
