"Cast iron grill pan NakedPan, OIGEN"
Nambu Tekki (Nanbu Tekki)
Nambu ironware from Iwate is the highest quality Japanese ironware. The history of Nambu cast iron products in Oshu Hiraizumi is about 1000 years old. Oshu was founded in warlike times as a city of peace, but its destruction by Kamakura warriors could not be prevented. One of the measures of reconstruction was to build up the competence and infrastructure for metal casting. To this day, pans, pots, tetsubin and teapots of the highest quality are produced in Oshu and the entire Mizusawa area using the traditional Nambu Tekki process. The main characteristics of Nambu Tekki products are: natural raw materials, high sustainability, very high utility, exceptional traditional and modern design. The cast iron has high heat storage and conductivity. The cookware gets hot evenly, and the surface temperature can be very high if desired. Since there is no coating to reduce heat conduction, the heat is transferred directly to the food. In starred gastronomy, these products are highly appreciated. With them, you can work with high, uniform heat, and at the same time the food prepared in them will stay warm for a long time.
Naked Pan
Naked Pan is the premium range from Oigen. It is distinguished primarily by the patented, natural finishing process that all products in the Naked Pan series undergo. The Naked Pan series is the result of a collaboration between OIGEN and the English designer Jasper Morrison. The project was launched after the great earthquake that hit the region. This tragic event motivated this team to create cast iron pans and pots with the Naked Pan series, whose finishes are 100% natural and sustainable. Cast iron has a high carbon content. Through processing, a layer of natural iron oxide forms on the surface, and the surface is open-pored, so it can absorb oil but also release iron.
Chef Katsuyasu Ito, recipient of the MAFF Chef Award says, \"Sautés become crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Naked Pan is ideal for getting a crispy skin. I also highly recommend preparing vegetables in this cookware. Because vegetables become especially tasty when they can be cooked in their own juices. With the Naked Pan, exquisite dishes can succeed even with ordinary household stoves.\"
Naked Pan was patented in Japan in 2006 and won the \"Good Design Award\". So not only is it a pleasure to cook with Naked Pan, the ergonomically designed products are also a feast for the eyes on the dinner table. A reminder of traditional Japan are the elements of arare design that have been skillfully fused with the modern shape.
Finishing OIGEN Cast Iron Products: Naked Finish
The Naked Finish of cast iron products - an evolution of the traditional Nambu Tekki finish - is a patented refinement of OIGEN. The surface of Nambu Tekki products with Naked Finish is noticeably more porous, so oil is absorbed more. As a result, the products are easier to burn in and the anti-stick effect is more noticeable. The light color of the cast iron comes from a natural oxide film that forms during the finishing process. However, with the use of oil, the surface gradually becomes darker. The prerequisite for this finishing process to be applied is a perfect casting process, as reworking would not be possible without damaging the surface protection.
All products are unique. Slight deviations from the picture are possible. Small irregularities in the shape and surface are signs of craftsmanship.
