The manufactory is situated in Seto, Aichi prefecture—a region renowned for its tradition of pottery, given its access to particularly high-quality clay. Uniquely, Seto is the only pottery center in Japan that has maintained the use of a glaze dating back over 1,000 years, to the Kamakura period. The award-winning manufactory is notable for its intentional collaboration between modern designers and traditional artisans, resulting in innovative products with unparalleled aesthetics, utility, and quality. The distinction between these pieces and inexpensive mass-produced items is not only visible but, according to tea connoisseurs, can also be distinctly tasted.
