Tea bowl Kuro Koma Banko Yaki, 60 ml

  • SKU: 060256
Japanese tea bowl from Suigetsu Toen. The tea bowl fits perfectly with the Kyusu Kuro Koma, but can also be combined with other teapots from Suigetsu. The tea bowl is made of the famous natural purple clay of Mie Prefecture, as it has been the tradition there for hundreds of years. This clay is very rich in iron and minerals and is one of the most valuable raw materials for tea ware. Teapots and bowls made of Banko Yaki are especially recommended for high-class, mild tea varieties such as Gyokuro, Kabusecha and noble Sencha. Toen Suigetsu is one of the great artists of traditional Japanese ceramic production. As the third master, he has led the Yokkaichi Ceramic Association for many years, and his impressive career has been accompanied by many honors and awards. The Kuro Koma tea bowl, after coming out of the wood-fired traditional ceramic kiln, was decorated by Suigetsu using a special sandblasting technique. A beautiful decoration that shows the perfect artisan.

Note: The tea bowls are purely handmade. Therefore, they may vary in terms of shape, size and wall thickness and may differ from the exemplary picture.
