Tea bowl Kintsuru Mitsukoshi, Banko Yaki, 60 ml

  • SKU: 060291
This exclusive tea bowl is a custom made for ORYOKI in the style of Kyusu Kintsuru Mitsokoshi by Suigetsu Toen. The delicate tea bowl has required all the art of the master, because on such a small surface it is even more difficult to let the golden cranes fly.

Made the tea bowl from the famous natural clay of Mie prefecture Banko. For many hundreds of years, this prefecture has been producing high-quality ceramics from clay. The purple clay Banko is very rich in iron and minerals and is one of the most valuable raw materials for tea ware. Especially among connoisseurs of first-class green tea such as Gyokuro, Kabusecha and noble Sencha, Banko ceramics are highly sought after. Suigetsu is one of the great artists of traditional Japanese ceramic production. As the third master in his family, he has led the Yokkaichi Ceramic Association for many years, and his impressive career has been accompanied by many honors and awards.

The Kintsuru tea bowl, after coming out of the wood-fired traditional ceramic kiln, was decorated with wonderful flying cranes by Suigetsu using a special sandblasting technique. The golden cranes in particular seem to truly move. A wonderful tea bowl that promises the highest pleasure and with the Kyusu Kintsuru forms the perfect tea service.

Note: The tea bowls are purely handmade. Therefore, they may vary in terms of shape, size and wall thickness and differ from the exemplary picture.
