Nambu Tekki (Nanbu Tekki)

Nambu ironware of Iwate is the highest quality Japanese ironware. The history of Nambu ironware in Oshu Hiraizumi is about 1000 years old. Oshu was founded in warlike times as a city under the sign of peace, but its destruction by Kamakura warriors could not be prevented. One of the measures of reconstruction was to build up the competence and infrastructure for metal casting. To this day, in Oshu and the entire Mizusawa area, pans, pots, tetsubin and teapots of the highest quality are produced using the traditional Nambu Tekki process. The main characteristics of Nambu Tekki products are: natural raw materials, high sustainability, very high utility, exceptional traditional and modern design. The cast iron has high heat storage and conductivity. The cookware gets hot evenly, and the surface temperature can be very high if desired. Since there is usually no coating to interfere with, the heat is transferred directly to the food. The cook can use high heat if needed, but can also keep food warm for a long time if desired.

Finishing OIGEN Cast Iron Products: NOF Finish

Natural Oil Finish is a process for finishing cast iron products with natural vegetable oil. This process protects the surface and makes it easier for the user to use the products. It is recommended to burn in pans and pots again before use according to instructions (except enameled rice pot meshikko). The prerequisite for NOF to be used is a perfect pouring process, as it is not possible to rework without damaging the surface protection.

All products are unique. Slight deviations from the picture are possible. Small irregularities in the shape and surface are signs of craftsmanship. Use on all types of stoves: electric stove, induction stove, gas stove. Open fire, grill, oven. Easy to prepare (burn-in) and clean by hand. Please follow the enclosed care instructions.
