Our ORYOKI tea comes from an organic-certified tea farm located on the island of Kyushu in Kagoshima, southern Japan. The subtropical climate with abundant sunshine and plentiful rainfall at an elevation of about 500 meters above sea level provides optimal conditions for cultivating high-quality green tea. The expansive tea fields in the mountainous region are a characteristic feature of tea farms in Kagoshima. Spring water and volcanic soil rich in minerals offer optimal conditions for the growth of tea plants.

The prohibition of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers is just one of the many regulations for the organic certification of tea farms and tea processing companies. Stringent annual inspections by the Japanese certification authority for agricultural operations ensure compliance with the measures. The high-quality tea leaves from our family-run tea farm are not the only reason for our premium product. The skills of the tea master play a crucial role in the final quality. All our tea varieties are produced in micro-batches and not in mass production, following traditional methods. Years of experience in production enable us to fully extract the flavor and character of each green tea batch. Most recently, the tea master was awarded gold at the annual tea processing competition in Shizuoka.
